Squadron cadets launch hot air balloons
Middle River, MD.:– Cadets from Maryland Wing Civil Air Patrols Glenn L. Martin Composite Squadron launched homemade hot air balloons as part of an Aerospace Education activity.
The activity is part of the Civil Air Patrols Aerospace Education Excellence program. The program gives cadets a look at how various aspects of aerospace work. This particular activity teaches cadets how lighter than air aircraft are built and are able to fly.
Martin squadron presented Unit Citation Award
Middle River, Md.: Maryland Wing Civil Air Patrol’s Glenn L. Martin Composite Squadron, located in Baltimore County, Maryland, was honored with the Unit Citation Award for the period 30 July 2012 through 30 July 2014.
Presented to squadron commander, Lt. Col. Earl “Roc” Williams, by Major Don Ells, Commander, Group II, the award acknowledged Martin’s efforts to maintain a high level of mission readiness accompanied by consistent high ratings and performance.

Martin squadron participated in wreath-laying salute to veterans
Middle River, Md. – Members of Maryland Wing Civil Air Patrol’s Glenn L. Martin Composite Squadron are proud to partner once more with Wreaths Across America, a nonprofit organization that recognizes U.S. military veterans who have guarded and preserved America’s freedom by placing remembrance wreaths on the graves of the fallen during the year-end holiday season.
